Country singer and songwriter David Allan Coe plays in Sioux Falls, and comedian Rodney Carrington performs in Brookings, both next week. Renowned classical pianist Alessio Bax plays with the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra at the Washington Pavilion on Saturday and Sunday. David Allan Coe This guy has written and sang songs that millions of people have heard. Coe performs at 8 p.m. March 25 at the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls, playing guitar and singing his hits including "The Ride" and "Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile." His songs have been hits for others, too, like Johnny Paycheck's version of Coe's "Take This Job and Shove It," and Coe's "Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)?" recorded by Tanya Tucker. Coe sings other writers' songs as he did with his hit '70s version of "You Never Even Called Me by My Name," written by Steve Goodman. Tickets are $35, available at the Sioux Falls Arena box office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online at www.jadepresents.com and at www.ticketmaster.com. Rodney Carrington Fans who haven't seen Carrington in concert, on TV or on the movie screen may still know his mature-audience comedy from his appearances on the "Bob and Tom" radio show. He plays the Swiftel Center in Brookings at 7 p.m. March 25. Fans will probably hear some material from his eight major-record label comedy albums, which sold more than two million copies. Carrington is known for his trademark redneck lifestyle humor in his stand-up routine. But he's an actor, too, having starred in his own TV sitcom "Rodney" which ran for two seasons on ABC. Carrington also co-wrote and co-starred with Toby Keith in the feature film "Beer for My Horses." A singer and musician, Carrington's crude songs like "Don't Look Now," "Little Things" and "Fred" are staples on "Bob & Tom." His latest album, "El Nino Loco," just hit store shelves and is the follow-up to his popular album release "King Of The Mountains." badar
